This is not entirely correct. You have to choose the “Default Settings” session before clicking “Save”. Otherwise it works, thanks for the tip!

It's saved to the registry, so you'd need to export it. Here's a good guide: How to Backup PuTTY Configuration

Yes, but where is it saved to??? I'd love to archive those default settings for future installations, but I cannot find the file in which they're saved!
